Most people think of swinging a hammer when they think about volunteering for Habitat. Due to the tremendous amount of planning and management required to build just one home, we have a constant need for committee members and volunteers to help with various other tasks that make that building process possible. You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to help out! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.

- Media, Newsletters & Speakers Bureau —
Help the Hilo Habitat tell its story to the community with the newspaper, radio, groups, and organization newsletters. Contact the Development Officer if you're a candidate.
- Special Events —
We do several fun events each year like the walk-a-thon, HPM Home Show, General Growth Properties' Home Show, Bachelor Auction, and Build-a-Thon. If you like events, come help us put them on!

- Building Material Donations Pick-Up —
In our efforts to lay the groundwork for a ReStore here in East Hawai'i, we need some helpers who would be willing to pick up donated building materials.
- ReStore Event Team —
We need people to plan monthly ReStore parking lot sales events with fun, food, music, and Habitat stories. here in East Hawai'i. We also need people who can plan, sort, price, and sell. Retail experience helpful, but not required. This is a fun way to meet the community and prevent homelessness!

- Lunch Chef —
Good food is a great way to keep our volunteers working each Saturday. Share your cooking talents and bring meals onsite. $30 reimbursement for supplies provided, as are all drinks and paper goods.

- Fundraising —
Fundraising is about relationships and helping people find their part in Habitat's mission and work. Help us build relationships and revenue to make our construction and rehabs possible. We value your support!
